Day15: Batman: The Movie and Batman

Batman: The Movie

Whose Movie: Mutual Buy

Rating: Terribly Corny
Okay,so this was a nostalgia buy. We both loved watching this Batman series when we were kids, and bought it on a whim.  The last time we watched it was before we went and saw "The Dark Knight" for the first time.  It's horribly corny, and there are so many problems with the plot that I could write pages on it.  The thing that bothered me the most though was that every time it when to the "super criminals" hideout, the shot was crooked. Like SUPER crooked. Seriously, it annoyed the heck out of me.  Parts that made us laugh the most (we laughed and mocked the ENTIRE movie) was every time Batman and Robin had to solve one of the Riddler's riddles. "A Sparrow with a machine gun." "Of course, that is the only answer obviously."

Batman

Whose Movie: Mutual Buy

Rating: Awesome

If Matt had to choose a favorite movie, he said last night he would have a hard time choosing between this and "Back to the Future."  After watching the disaster of the other Batman movie, we decided to watch this one as well.  This one, besides the 80s fashion, has aged really well. And plus it's a Tim Burton movie :) Jack Nicholson was awesome as The Joker.  And Danny Elfman's score is awesome as well.  Prince wrote a bunch of songs for the movie as well, and they played only when the Joker was making mischief. Matt said "This leads me to believe that Prince is a terrorist, what with his sponsering of The Joker's activities and all." This is the first of several Tim Burton movies in our collection, as he's my all time favorite director.

Three more Batman movies left in our collection. Then after Batman we have Be Kind Rewind.
